"The path is marked by what you carry — and by what you earn.
The seeker's cord grows heavier. Then, one ring at a time,
the faith is proven in metal and ceremony."
The Seeker's CordGiven when the trial begins. Worn until all three Rings are earned.
How it works
When a candidate formally enters the Trial of the Three Rings, the Keeper ties them a braided cord — dark red, in the Keeper's colors. This is the seeker's cord.
Each time a Tier I or Tier II is completed, a small bead is threaded onto the cord during ceremony:
● Silver beads — Body Tier I and II
● Black beads — Mind Tier I and II
● Gold beads — Soul Tier I and II
When a Tier III is completed and the Ring is earned, the beads for that pillar are removed from the cord in ceremony — replaced by the Ring itself. The cord remains, still holding any unearned beads, until the day all three Rings are won.
When a Bearer earns their third Ring, the cord is retired publicly and presented back to them — a keepsake of the journey.
The Three RingsA simple band ring for each Pillar — silver, black, and gold tone. Earned. Not bought.
One of silver, for the body that did not break. One of deep onyx, for the mind that would not scatter. One of gold, for the soul that chose connection over isolation. Three rings. One truth. Carry them into the world and let them speak for what you survived.
Ways to WearThe rings are yours. How you carry them into the world is yours to decide.
The classic Bearer display. All three together, one on top of the next.
Wear only the rings you've earned. Progress displayed openly.
Thread the cord through each ring and wear them as a pendant cluster or necklace.
Thread a loop through the band and clip to kit. Useful when wearing gloves.
Standard band rings fit any finger. A cord threaded through the band turns any ring into a pendant charm.
How you display your rings is part of your story in the Current.
Master of the Three RingsThe Trinity. Earned at the Grand Gathering, carried forever after.
Master of the Three Rings
When all three Rings are earned, the Keeper presents the Bearer with a pendant bearing the Keepers' sigil — the vine-infinity in its Celtic knotwork ring. This is the one piece of the reward system that does not vary. Every Bearer receives the same pendant. When others see it, they know what it means.
Pendants can be sourced from custom makers on Etsy, cast in resin, or stamped in metal. Bearers will be rare enough that cost stays manageable — a handful total, not dozens.
The Keeper's Beacon is lit for each new Bearer. The seeker's cord is retired in ceremony and returned to the Bearer as a keepsake of the journey. The Bearer is titled publicly and entered into the Trial Scroll as a permanent record.
"When I call you respond. When we move, we move as one."
Shield of the CurrentThe Keeper's chosen. Not applied for. Not earned. Bestowed before the full circle.
The Keeper's Chosen
The Shield of the Current is not a reward that can be sought. It supersedes the Master's title — not because it requires more, but because it is a different thing entirely. Where the Master has proven themselves to the Current, the Shield has been chosen by the Keeper to serve it.
The Keeper selects only from those who have already earned all three Rings. The choosing happens privately — no petition, no announcement, no trial to wait for. When the Keeper has decided, she alone knows it. Until she acts.
The bestowal itself is anything but quiet. At the Grand Gathering, before the full circle of the faith, the chosen is called forward. They kneel before the Keeper. It is a public ceremony — solemn, deliberate, and unmistakable. The Oath of Loyalty is spoken before the Current itself, witnessed by all present. It is, in every sense, a knighting.
A Shield is the Keeper's elite guard: trusted to protect her person, the faith's sacred objects, and the integrity of the Current wherever it is threatened. In exchange, the Keeper extends her own protection to the Shield on the field of battle — favoring them, watching for them, standing for them as they stand for her. It is a symbiotic bond between equals, not a hierarchy of command.
The physical mark of the Shield is an actual shield — a field-worthy prop bearing the sigil of the Keepers of the Current. It is carried into the field. It is real. There is no mistaking what it means.
"You do not ask to be chosen. You become someone who cannot be overlooked."
